Christopher Brown practises in commercial law, particularly insolvency, banking andfinance, corporations and securities, and equity. Prior to coming to the Bar, Christopher was a solicitor in the litigation department at Clayton Utz.
Christopher has an extensive business background and holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School. Prior to entering the legal profession, Christopher worked in the IT industry as a Project Manager and, prior to that, in the finance industry as an Administration Manager.
On coming to the Bar, Christopher read with Philip Crutchfield SC. He has since appeared in many commercial matters in all jurisdictions but mostly appears in trials and interlocutory hearings in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and the Federal Circuit Court.
Christopher is a co-author of Australian Corporation Law Principles and Practice (LexisNexis) and Bankruptcy Law and Practice (LexisNexis). He is also a lecturer at Leo Cussen where he teaches Commercial and Corporate Practice.
Christopher is a nationally accredited mediator and is available as a mediator in most areas of commercial law. He is also a full member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia.
