Established in 2006 by Michael Sifris SC (now The Honourable Justice Sifris), Lonsdale Chambers is one of the first private barristers' chambers in Melbourne.
The 25 members of Lonsdale Chambers practise in all areas of commercial law, with considerable experience in various specialist areas including Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Banking and Finance, Corporations, Property, Contract Law and Equity. Some members of Lonsdale Chambers also practise in other specialist areas, such as Taxation and Family Law.
Several members are also accredited mediators, offering mediation services across all areas of commercial law. Lonsdale Chambers is well suited for hosting mediations with a large conference room and other rooms available as break-out rooms. Lonsdale Chambers offers its full facilities at no charge if its barristers are involved in the mediation, either as counsel or as mediator.
