Lonsdale Chambers

Established in 2006 by Michael Sifris SC (now The Honourable Justice Sifris), Lonsdale Chambers is one of the first private barristers' chambers in Melbourne.

 

The 25 members of Lonsdale Chambers practise in all areas of commercial law, with considerable experience in various specialist areas including Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Banking and Finance, Corporations, Property, Contract Law and Equity. Some members of Lonsdale Chambers also practise in other specialist areas, such as Taxation and Wills & Estates.

 

Several members are also accredited mediators, offering mediation services across all areas of commercial law. Lonsdale Chambers is well suited for hosting mediations with a large conference room and other rooms available as break-out rooms as well as facilities to host or conduct mediations on-line, offering mediations via various platforms including Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams and Modron. Lonsdale Chambers offers its full facilities at a minimal cost if its barristers are involved in the mediation, either as counsel or as the appointed mediator.

 

Members of Lonsdale Chambers include senior leaders of the bar and well-regarded juniors. Its members have wide ranging backgrounds and include former partners of leading law firms, judge's associates and a former Deputy Registrar of the Federal Court.
