Jordan has a broad general commercial law practice and maintains expertise in corporate and personal insolvency law as a member of Lonsdale Chambers, a group of leading commercial and insolvency law barristers.  

He appears in applications, trials and appeals in all State and Federal Courts and advises to achieve the best commercial results for his clients.    

Recent cases in which Jordan has appeared include: 

  • Cussen, IMO Monarch Towers Pty Ltd (in liq) VID749/2024 (with Oren Bigos KC, appeal of [2024] FCA 716 of trial judge’s decision to summarily dismiss liquidator’s voidable transaction proceedings following refusing liquidator’s application for an extension of time to serve the proceedings, Full Court of Federal Court of Australia)(judgment pending); 

  • Re ML & NB Pty Ltd [2025] VSC 444 (application to continue winding up proceeding where defect with service of statutory demand by amending to relying upon a third party’s statutory demand, Supreme Court of Victoria);

  • ASIC v Guo (No 2) [2024] FCA 251 (application under s 1323 of the Corporations Act, Federal Court of Australia);

  • Meletsis v Yeo (2023) 412 ALR 68; (2023) 167 ACSR 470; [2023] FCAFC 93 (with Michael Galvin KC, appeal of (2022) 157 ACSR 652 against trial judge's findings of: an intention to defraud trust creditors through sale of trust property by company director; breaches of director's and fiduciary duties; Barnes v Addy knowing assistance and receipt; that assignment of a trustee company's cause of action by a liquidator without notice to beneficiaries included both the legal and beneficial interest in the trust property; that Bankruptcy Trustee may use public examination transcripts as evidence-in-chief in respect of non-Bankruptcy Act claims, Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia; Special Leave to Appeal to the High Court of Australia refused [2023] HCASL 179);

  • Rambaldi (Trustee) v Meletsis, Bankrupt Estate of Karas (No 3) (with Michael Galvin KC, application for indemnity costs granted against non-party major bank for costs incurred due to unreasonable conduct by bank in administration of court freezing order, Federal Court of Australia) 

  • IMO Donchiod Pty Ltd (in liq) (2023) 166 ACSR 131; [2023] VSC 111 (appeal of [2020] VSC 566on ground trial judge erred in utilising the “slip rule” to make an order extending the time for determination of winding up proceeding pursuant to s 459R of the Corporations Act, Supreme Court of Victoria);

  • Krajki v Lazo Paper Pty Ltd (claim under the Retail Leases Act 2003 for damages for wrongful repudiation of lease, VCAT); 

  • IMO EDN Supplies Pty Ltd (with Michael Galvin KC, application by creditor to set aside a deed of company arrangement (DOCA), Supreme Court of Victoria);

Before coming to the bar Jordan was the Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Sifris of the Supreme Court of Victoria, where he assisted in the management of the Corporations List of the Commercial Court. In this role he worked on a broad range of commercial disputes, including trials involving breach of director's duties, shareholder oppression, voidable transactions, breach of trust and fiduciary duty, contracts of guarantee, real property disputes, and applications for derivative leave.

Jordan read with the Honourable Peter Fary SC and his senior mentor is Jonathan Evans KC.
